A seller might take an old listing for a "Phone Case" that had 2,000 great reviews and change the product to "Wireless Earbuds." When you look at the page, it has a 4.8-star rating, but if you look closely, the old reviews are all talking about phone cases.

Anti-aging creams and serums often use "Incentivized Reviewers." These are people who get the product for free or get a full refund via PayPal after they post a 5-star review. This makes the product look like a miracle cure, but the feedback is bought and paid for.

Home tech is a massive market, and competition is fierce. Sellers often use "Review Sabotage" here, where they buy fake 1-star reviews for their competitors and fake 5-star reviews for themselves. This creates a "Star War" that makes it impossible for a normal shopper to know which camera actually keeps their home safe.
